Signing in vs belonging to a stable

Your account is you, the same everywhere; a membership is your place in one stable. Signing in on its own never adds you to a stable.

На цій сторінці

Your account is you: one email address, the same in every stable. A membership is your place in one particular stable, with a role there. Signing in only proves who you are; on its own it never adds you to a stable.

Two things, not one

  • Your account is how you get into Nose. You sign in with an emailed link or one-time code, or with Google or Apple. No password.
  • Your membership is what lets you see a stable's schedule and your passes and balance there. The stable gives it to you, or you start your own stable.

What people mix up

"I signed in, so I'm in the stable"

Not yet. If Nose says you're not part of any stable, signing in worked; nobody has added you. You can't search for a stable and join it. You become a member in one of these ways:

  • The stable invites you, and you press Accept invitation. That one click signs you in and adds you.
  • The stable has turned on self sign-up, and you join from its public page: Sign in / Join, or Join this stable if you're already signed in.
  • You ask for a place on a ride from the public schedule, and the stable confirms it.
  • A parent adds you to their account.

Instructors, helpers and admins join by invitation only. Stuck? Ask the stable to invite the exact email you sign in with.

"One account, so everything is shared"

  • Same in every stable: your name and phone, your sign-in email, language, appearance and notifications.
  • Different in each stable: your role, rides, passes and balance. You can be an instructor in one stable and a rider in another.

A different email is a different account, and if the stable already has you under the other one, you'll appear twice.

"They're on our list, so they can use the app"

A stable can keep someone on file without app access. Their bookings, passes and payments work, but they can't open the stable in the app until the stable gives them access. If a stable deactivates someone, they lose access to that stable only; their account and other stables are untouched.

Where you see this in the app

  • The invitation email and its Accept invitation page: becoming a member.
  • Your account page: if you belong to more than one stable, Stable memberships lists them, with your role in each and Open.
  • A stable's public page: Sign in / Join (Join this stable if you're signed in), if the stable has turned on self sign-up.
  • For admins and instructors, People → Add person: Give app access decides whether the person gets an invitation or stays on file only; unaccepted invitations wait under Pending invitations.
