What settling means
Settling up with an instructor freezes their pay for the rides and sales you settle — what that locks, and what you can still change.

Settling up with an instructor freezes their pay for the rides and sales you ticked. Once settled, those figures stay put, whatever changes later. If something was wrong, an admin reverses the settlement and settles again.
What settling freezes
When an admin clicks Settle [name] in Earnings, the ticked items leave To settle and appear in the Settled log. For each settlement, the log keeps:
- which rides and pass or voucher sales it covered
- the Payout the instructor was owed
- the cash that changed hands (Settlement)
- who settled it, and when
The instructor sees the same figures on their own Settled tab, so you both have one agreed record.
Three things people mix up
"Settled" at the ride is not "settled" in Earnings
Settling a ride at check-out is about the rider: once you record how they paid, their seat's payment button turns green and shows that method (on hover: Settled). Settling in Earnings is about the instructor: the stable and the instructor have squared up for that work. A ride can't be settled with the instructor until every rider who came is settled at check-out. Until then it stays on To settle.
Frozen figures, not frozen rides
A settlement freezes the pay, not the ride:
- An instructor can't change the payment on a settled ride. The app asks them to get an admin.
- An admin can still correct it, but the settlement keeps its old figures. If the change affects the instructor's pay, reverse the settlement and settle again.
A new rate doesn't reach settled rides
Changing which set or salary an instructor is on in Compensation reaches only what is still on To settle, even if you backdate it. Rides you've already settled keep what they were paid. To pay them under the new terms, reverse the settlement: the items come back and are worked out again. Changing a rate inside a set is different: it only applies from the moment it starts, so earlier rides keep their old rate whether they're settled or not.
Undoing a settlement
Only an admin can undo a settlement, from the Settled tab:
- Reverse undoes the whole settlement. Everything in it goes back to To settle, and the original stays in the log marked Reversed.
- Reverse day (open the settlement first) sends back one day only. The rest stays settled, and the log keeps the earlier version, marked Corrected.
Where you see this in the app
- Earnings → To settle: what hasn't been settled yet.
- Earnings → Settled: every settlement, with Reverse. Open one to see what it covered.
- Schedule → open a ride, Allocate & Settle tab: a green payment button (Settled) means that rider is settled.
- Settings → Compensation: who is on which set or salary. A change reaches only what is still to be settled.
