Take payment at the ride

Record how each rider paid — cash, card, transfer, pass, voucher or balance — and which one to pick when.

On this page

Every rider on a ride gets their own payment: you record how they paid, and the ride shows who is settled. At the ride, Nose doesn't take the money itself — cash, card and transfer record what you received, and a pass, voucher or balance is used up from the rider's account.

Which one to use when

  • The rider has a pass or a voucher → Pass/voucher, then pick theirs. It always covers the whole ride, and one ride comes off the pass.
  • Cash in hand → Cash.
  • Paid on your card terminal → Card.
  • Bank transfer or BLIK to your phone → More, then Transfer.
  • The rider has money on their account → More, then Balance.
  • A free or cheaper ride → More, then Edit price, if you're allowed to change prices. A price of 0 covers the ride at no charge.

Take the payment

  1. Open the ride from the Schedule and go to the Allocate & Settle tab.
  2. Give each rider their horse if you haven't yet. Once a rider has a horse, a small wallet button sits next to them. It is gold until the ride starts, then turns red if the rider still hasn't paid. Tap it.
  3. Pick how they paid. For Cash, Card or Transfer, the amount is already filled in with what's left to pay — change it if needed, then tap Confirm payment.
  4. For Pass/voucher, tap one of the rider's passes or vouchers under This rider. To use one that isn't listed, search by code, name or person.
  5. If the rider pays in two parts, take the first part now. The rider shows Remaining with what's still to pay, and you add the next payment the same way.
  6. When the ride is covered, the rider shows Settled. The line at the top of the tab reads all settled once everyone has paid.

Being paid online

Once you've set up online payments, riders can pay from the Wallet in their own app — by card, Apple Pay or BLIK — with Top up or Pay what I owe. The money goes onto their balance and pays for their rides like any other money on their account. At the ride, use it with More → Balance.

If something's off

  • You picked the wrong method or amount. Each payment on the rider has its own edit and remove buttons. A pass, voucher or balance has one undo button: tap it, then Undo payment, and the pass gets the ride back.
  • A child rides on a parent's or sibling's pass. Search for that pass in the chooser and pick it. Nose asks you to confirm — tap Borrow for this ride. A pass for a different ride type asks the same way, with Use for this ride.
  • A note says the rider already has money on their account. Don't take cash — use Balance instead.
  • The rider has no pass yet. The chooser reads No passes or vouchers for this rider. Sell them one first, then come back to the ride — see Someone turns up without a booking.

What happens by itself

  • Shortly after a ride starts, riders whose pass or voucher covers it are marked Settled on their own — as long as they have a horse on the ride.
  • If a rider has money on their account and you leave the ride unpaid, Nose uses that money for the ride on its own afterwards, and the rider turns Settled. To settle every ride by hand instead, switch off Apply wallet credit to lessons automatically in Settings → Balance and online payments.
  • If a rider pays more than the price, you'll see Overpaid … → to balance, and the extra waits on their account for the next ride.
