By the end of your first day you'll have joined the barn, seen your rides for today, put each rider on a horse, taken their payment, and found those rides in your earnings. Give yourself about half an hour before your first lesson to find your rides and open one.

Stage 1 · Accept the invitation · about 2 minutes

  1. Open the invitation email from the barn and select the link.
  2. Check the barn name and your role, then press Accept invitation.

You're signed in and inside the barn in one step — no password to set. Next time, sign in with the same email address. If the link has expired or doesn't arrive, ask the barn to send a new one: Accepting an invitation.

Stage 2 · Find today's rides · about 5 minutes

You open on today in the Schedule, in the day view: horses down the side, rides across the top.

  1. Tap Everyone so it reads Mine only (on a tablet it's under Filters). You now see just the rides you teach; tap it again to see the whole barn.
  2. Tap a ride to open it.

More on reading the grid: Week and day views.

Stage 3 · Put riders on horses · about 1 minute per ride

  1. In the ride, open the Allocate & Settle tab. The summary at the top counts riders, how many are on a horse, and how many are still to settle.
  2. Tap a rider in the Riders column, then a horse in the Horses column. The pair moves to the top of the list.
  3. A rider isn't on the list? Use + Add rider and type their name.

Stage 4 · Check riders out · about 1 minute per rider

Each paired rider has a wallet button next to their name. Gold means not paid yet, red (Overdue — settle) means the ride has started and they still haven't paid, green means Settled.

  1. Tap the wallet button.
  2. Pick how they pay: Cash, Pass/voucher or Card. Transfer and Balance are under More.
  3. For cash, card or transfer, the amount still due is already filled in — press Confirm payment (change the amount first only if they pay part). For a pass or voucher, pick it from the list — it covers the whole ride in one tap.
  4. Repeat for each rider until the summary at the top reads all settled.

What tends to go wrong on day one:

  • They pay part now, part later. Change the amount to what they give you; the rider's payment panel shows Remaining with what's left, and their wallet button won't turn green until you add the rest.
  • A rider is already green. Their pass, or money already on their account, covered the ride — nothing to do.
  • You tapped the wrong method. Each payment has a remove or undo control next to it; use it and pick again.
  • Someone turns up unannounced. See Someone turns up without a booking.

Every payment option in detail: Settling a ride.

Stage 5 · See what you've earned · about 5 minutes

Open Earnings. You only ever see your own numbers.

  • To settle lists the rides you've taught that are over and that the barn hasn't paid you for yet. A ride where a rider still owes is marked, and unpaid riders don't count toward your payout until they pay. So check every rider out before they leave.
  • Payout is what you're owed.
  • Settlement is the cash you collected minus your payout — what you hand to the barn. If it's negative, the barn owes you the difference.

Only an admin confirms your payout. Once they do, those rides move to Settled. More: Earnings.

You're live when…

  • You can see today's rides and open one.
  • You've put a rider on a horse.
  • You've checked out a rider and the ride reads all settled.
  • Once the ride is over, you've found it under Earnings → To settle.
