Your horse at a Nose barn

For horse owners: get into your horse's page, follow its care and health, ask the barn for a service, and pay your boarding bill.

On this page

Your horse boards at a barn that runs on Nose. In about twenty minutes you'll have one page that shows what you owe, what the barn did for your horse, which health dates are coming up, and a button to ask for extra work.

1 · Get in · 2 minutes

  1. Open the email from the barn and use the link in it. If it's an invitation, press Accept invitation.
  2. Next time, sign in with your email and a link or code. There's no password.
  3. Open My horses in the menu.

If the page says No boarded horses, the barn hasn't added your horse's boarding contract yet, or hasn't linked you to it. Ask them to link you to the horse as its owner, or to set you as payer on its contract.

2 · Read your horse's page · 5 minutes

The page is ordered by what you'll need most often:

  • To pay: what you owe now, each charge with its date. Anything late is marked overdue. If you've paid in more than you owe, Credit (overpayment) shows it.
  • Care & services: what the barn did for your horse over the last few days, such as feeding, medication and services, plus what's still planned. Work your plan already covers is marked Included in board.
  • Further down: your contract (plan, monthly price, who pays, dates).

Not seeing any money? Only the person who pays for the contract sees charges and balance. If that's a co-owner or a family member, the page names them and shows you the care side only.

3 · Check health and documents · 5 minutes

  • Upcoming health dues lists the next deworming, vaccination and farrier dates, and any document about to expire. Overdue ones are marked.
  • You get a reminder before each date, and again if it slips past. The barn records the visit, and the next date then appears on its own.
  • Under Documents, use Add document to upload the passport or insurance. If you give a document an expiry date, you'll be reminded before it runs out.

When reminders go out, and who gets them, is on Health reminders.

4 · Ask the barn for something · 2 minutes

  1. In Care & services, press Request a service.
  2. Pick the horse, the service and the date, and add a note if it helps.
  3. Press Send request.

The barn confirms or declines it, and you get a message either way, and again when the job is done. Changed your mind before the work is done? Press Withdraw on that row. A service your plan includes costs nothing extra, up to what the plan covers. Anything else is charged at the barn's prices and appears under To pay.

No Request a service button? Either your contract isn't active yet, or the barn hasn't opened any services for requests.

5 · Pay · 3 minutes

You can pay the barn however you've agreed, in cash or by transfer. When they record it, the charge leaves To pay and you get a confirmation.

If Wallet is in your menu and your barn takes payments online, open it and press Pay what I owe. If you owe nothing, the same button reads Add funds, so you can pay ahead. No Wallet? Pay the barn directly, as above.

You'll get a message each time a new charge is issued, and a reminder shortly before it's due.

6 · Choose your messages · 1 minute

Open My account, then Notifications. Email messages are on to start with. Messages on your phone are off until you switch on Push notifications. Under Email notifications and Push notifications, two switches cover your horse:

  • Boarding — charges & payments: new charges, due dates, payments recorded.
  • Horse — care & documents: health reminders, expiring documents, and replies to your requests.

Switch one off if you don't want those messages.

You're live when…

  • My horses opens on your horse.
  • You can see To pay, or a note naming who pays.
  • You've checked the health dates and added any document the barn should have.
  • You know how you'll pay: in person, or online from Wallet if you have it.

Leave this for later

  • Book a facility, if your barn lets owners book the arena or another space. Some bookings add a charge.
  • The Statement, for when you need to look back at a past month.
  • Riding here as well? Your lessons, passes and balance are covered in Riding at a Nose barn.
  • Using Nose at another barn too? See Teach or ride at more than one barn.
